We service elementary, secondary and post-secondary schools and institutions from our head offices and lab based in Burnaby, B.C.
We are currently looking for an Account Manager to join our team. This is an exciting role, based in the Lower Mainland, that will require resiliency and flexibility. This role will report directly to our Client Partnership Manager.
Our compensation package includes a base salary, PLUS a performance-based commission structure.
Responsibilities:
- Taking photos efficiently that meet the customer’s needs and the company’s quality to maximize sales and account retention.
- Oversee and facilitate the execution of photography events including quality of photography and customer experience. Customers include administrators, staff, students and families.
- Assist with the scheduling of photographers and event staff to ensure proper coverage and smooth operations.
- Mentor, grow, and develop photographers through training, feedback, and performance reviews.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment issues that arise during the event, ensuring minimal disruption to the photography process.
- Collaborate with Director of Client Partnerships and Territory Managers to align on processes, improve performance, and maximize resources.
- Help prepare for events, including equipment setup, location scouting, and briefing the team on event-specific details.
- Travel as required to various event locations, ensuring the team and event are well‐supported.
- Address any on‐site issues promptly, including scheduling conflicts, technical problems, or customer concerns, to maintain a positive event atmosphere.
- Provide exceptional customer service, renew your existing business and sell the MWS brand, products and services. Grow the MWS business in line with company vision and goals; Establish plans and strategies in partnership with your sales manager to expand the customer base in your territory.
- Keep and maintain accurate and detailed records and information on each account and prospect assigned, with respect to the contact and solicitation, sales activities, sales results, and account information and to ensure that this information is updated weekly in the company's database
- Handle school inquiries (photo dates, program information, school services, etc.)
- Manage school complaints and requests in conjunction with our customer care team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of account management (within the education or school photography sector would be ideal).
- Previous experience working or volunteering with primary/intermediate and high school students (eg: dance teacher, sports coach, camp counsellor, etc...)
- College diploma or equivalent
- A technical inclination and ability to learn photography skills required. Previous experience with volume photography is considered an asset but not required.
- Reliable transportation for work purposes and the ability to travel to schools in both urban and remote locations in all weather conditions and seasons is required.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be comfortable and confident engaging with school administrators.
- B2B customer support; tracking orders and customer details in a CRM database.
- Skilled in problem solving, both internally and externally
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Interpersonal skills reflected in ability to work with all levels of employees.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
- This position involves working with children in a school setting, therefore, successful applicants must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
