Terrace/Kitimat | Seasonal | Starting Fall 2026

This could be the perfect fit for you! This position is a seasonal position that will run from September until late November, with the possibility of extending into 2027.
Many of our most successful team members come from wedding, portrait, and event photography backgrounds. For photographers whose busiest season is in the spring and summer, this role offers consistent weekday work throughout the fall, along with professional equipment, training, and support.
This position would be an excellent fit for an outgoing, people-focused individual who enjoys working with children and families. No school photography experience is required—we provide comprehensive training through our Photo School program. What matters most is a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and a willingness to learn.

Mountain West Studios is Western Canada’s leading school photography company—proudly Canadian and family-owned since 1980. We've been capturing student smiles and school memories for over 45 years.
What You’ll Do:
- Travel to schools across the Terrace/Kitimat area to photograph students from K-Grade 12.
- Set up and operate professional photography equipment (we provide all gear and training).
- Interact with students and school staff in a warm, upbeat, and professional way.
- Represent Mountain West Studios with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Work weekdays during peak season (September–November).
What We Offer:
- $35-$40/hour based on experience.
- Paid drive time.
- Mileage reimbursement ($0.55/km where applicable).
- Paid training in Terrace/Kitimat. Date TBD.

What You’ll Need:
- Valid driver’s license (no “L” licenses) and a reliable personal vehicle.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
- Strong communication skills and fluent English.
- Comfort working with children and school staff.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Comfortable standing, walking, and bending for long periods.
